Useful to know

Where do the words come from?

Each word shows its sources. Kikamba, Maa and Kiswahili come mainly from Peace Corps Kenya course books written with Kenyan language teachers (public domain). Gĩkũyũ, Dholuo, Somali and parts of the others come from Wiktionary and Wikivoyage phrasebooks (CC BY-SA). Words found in two sources, or in a course book, are marked “Checked”; “Phrasebook only” words still need a second check.

I speak this language. How can I help?

Thank you. Use the Local Language Learning Pack Maker to write a corrected or bigger pack for your language and share it; we add checked corrections to the next update.

Where are my files and inputs processed?

This tool processes your entries on your device. It does not upload them or save them in an account. Downloads remain on your device; Reset clears the current tool workspace.
