Useful to know

Which assumptions are used in the result?

The calculation uses the values and options entered in the workspace. Financial scenarios do not insert current market rates, taxes or lender offers. The method and tool limits are shown so you can assess whether they fit your task.

Where are my files and inputs processed?

Maths questions and working are processed on this device and are not uploaded. Challenge score, completed count and difficulty can be saved only when you enable device saving. Saving starts off on each visit; turning it off or choosing Erase saved progress removes that record. Questions and answers are never saved. Reset clears current working, not optional saved progress.

Maths learning notes

Translate percent into a fraction

Beginner · Prerequisite: Fractions and division

Percent means per hundred. To find p% of a whole, multiply the whole by p/100. For percentage change, divide the difference by the original value, then multiply by 100.

Example: 20/100 * 250

Common mistake: Percentage change uses the original value as the denominator. A zero original value has no defined percentage change.

Independent practice: 15/100 * 200

What should I check before moving on?

Percentage change uses the original value as the denominator. A zero original value has no defined percentage change. Use the worked example, then attempt the independent practice without looking at the solution.
