Can I reuse the result in another application?
Use the copy or download actions offered by the tool. Check the result in the destination application, because supported formats, rendering and input limits can differ.
Where are my files and inputs processed?
Maths questions and working are processed on this device and are not uploaded. Challenge score, completed count and difficulty can be saved only when you enable device saving. Saving starts off on each visit; turning it off or choosing Erase saved progress removes that record. Questions and answers are never saved. Reset clears current working, not optional saved progress.

Find the roots of a quadratic
Intermediate · Prerequisite: Linear equations, squares and square roots
Move all terms to one side to form ax² + bx + c = 0. The discriminant b² − 4ac tells you how many real roots to expect. Factorisation and the quadratic formula are two ways to find those roots.
Example: x² – 5x + 6 = 0
Common mistake: Include both signs in the quadratic formula. A negative discriminant has no real roots.
Independent practice: x² – 7x + 12 = 0
What should I check before moving on?
Include both signs in the quadratic formula. A negative discriminant has no real roots. Use the worked example, then attempt the independent practice without looking at the solution.
